Description:

This stone circle is described on Archaeology.ie as follows;

"In level pasture in basin of headwater of Durrus river. One of the five stones, the N entrance stone, has fallen. Others are 0.9m to 1.4m L, 0.4m to 0.5m T and 0.8m to 1.25m H. Internal measurement along main axis, aligned NE-SW, is c. 2.5m. Prostrate stone (L 2.4m; 1.4m) c. 2m S of circle, possible fallen standing stone, rests on small heap of rubbish. (Ó Nualláin 1984, no. 86; Roberts 1988, Ch. 5, no. 6)."

Jack Roberts, who has been studying the stone circles of Cork & Kerry for 30 years, suspects that this stone circle is aligned to the sun-set on the Winter Solstice.
