Lissacresig five stone circle

Description:

This stone circle is described on Archaeology.ie as follows;

"On ridge on S-facing slope overlooking Sullane River valley. Circle complete; partly incorporated in field fence. Orthostats are 1m to 2.6m L, 0.5m to 1m T and 1.1m to 1.65m H. Internal measurement along main axis, aligned E-W, is 3.5m. (O Nualláin 1984a, 37, no. 68)."

This circle is in about 1km from the road on private property. It is a lovely 5 stone circle that is partially incorporated into a field boundary. Jack Roberts, who has been studying the stone circles of Cork & Kerry for over 30 years, suspects that this stone circle is aligned to the sun-set on the Equinox days.
