Sunset at Knowth Passage Tomb with site 15 to the far right here

Description:

This passage tomb is described on Archaeology.ie as follows;

"Knowth cemetery, site 15. Remains of a kerbed mound, c. 19m in diam., with a well-preserved passage-tomb divided by three sill stones. The structure is 9.2m long and opens to SW. Five stones bear megalithic art. Contained secondary cremation with Bell Beaker (Eogan 1984, 90-109, 302-12)."

I came across this alignment in 2016 with the publication of Dr Frank Prendergast's paper 'Interpreting megalithic tomb orientations and siting within broader cultural contexts'  Dr Prendergast uses a statistical analysis of all the passage tombs in Ireland to conclude that 24 of them have significant astronomical alignments
